Free Health Care Services on November 21-22

Remote Area Medical will be providing free health care services to those in need. They will be not be checking your income, insurance or any background information on you, and there will be no cost to you, the taxpayer or the government.

What: Project “Health & Hope” – The Doctor is Free

When: November 21-22

Where: The Americraft Expo Center at the South Florida Fairground, 9067 Southern Blvd in West Palm Beach

Time: Starts at 6:00 am

25+ community organizations will provide free healthcare services to you. The personnel (medical and non-medical) running the event will all be volunteers. Because the number of people needed these services is great, be prepared to wait.

Services to be provided include:

DENTAL: Cleanings, fillings and extractions
VISION: Vision exam and free prescription glasses made onsite. (NOTE: May not be able to make glasses for everyone.)
MEDICAL & WOMEN’S HEALTH: Mammograms (if necessary will be done off site with vouchers), PSA test, pediatric exams, and adult physicals (including diabetes and hypertension Services)

Other services to be provided include: H1N1 & Seasonal Flu shots, ability to sign up for Medicaid and Food Stamps, Free Legal aid. These services will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. The gates to the fairgrounds will open up at 8:00 pm on November 20.

Right now, just mark your calendars and if you or anyone you know would like to volunteer, they are in need of over 700 volunteers.
