Free 60-day membership to BJ’s

image5Through July 5, 2010, new members can receive a free 60-day trial membership to BJ’s Wholesale Club. And it looks like it’s truly free — I don’t see any mention of adding a 10 to 15 percent fee at checkout.

Unlike most warehouse clubs, BJ’s allows you to use both BJ’s own coupons & manufacturers’ coupons. And making a good deal better, you don’t have to rely on manufacturers’ coupons cut from the Sunday paper — they accept coupons printed from online sites, too.

Does it get even better? Yep. Per the official policy, you can only use one coupon per item, but an item isn’t defined as one package. If you buy a multipack of toothpaste, each tube of toothpaste counts as an item.

Since the official policy prohibits you from using more than one coupon per item, it implies that you can’t stack a BJ’s coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon. But it’s a YMMV deal (your mileage may vary): Some stores let you to do just that, allowing you to use one BJ’s coupon per bundle and one manufacturer’s coupon per item in the bundle, which stretches your savings even further.
