This summer will be hopping with free live music at Boca Center’s Summer Concert Music Series, taking place the first Saturday of each month from 7-9 p.m. These free concerts and perfect for the entire family. The series kicks off on Sat., June 7th, as Turnstiles – a Billy Joel Tribute Band performs from 7-9 p.m. Before, during or after the show, treat yourself to some good eats at one of Boca Center’s popular restaurants.

SunFest2014Are you heading out to Sunfest this year? This annual waterfront music and art festival will return to South Florida from April 30 to May 3, 2014. Discounted Tickets are available to those who buy early (by April 26, 2014) and are available for purchase online and at Publix locations in Martin & Palm Beach counties between Sun., April 13 and Sat., April 26. With this advance pricing deal, you will enjoy a 1-day pass for adults for $30 (normally $39) and a 1-day pass for children 6-10 for $8 (normally $10). Kids 5 and under are free. Discounted tickets are also available for multi-day tickets.

SENIOR TICKETS

If you are a senior, 65 years and older, you can purchase a ticket for just $20. Senior tickets are only available at the gate — and a valid ID must be shown.

The Florida Dept of Health is sponsoring a promotion that will save you $10 off (based on the gate price) SunFest admission on Fri., May 2 making a 1-day pass just $29. This deal ends at 5:00 p.m. on Fri., May 2 and is good for admission on Friday.

MILITARY DISCOUNT

Enjoy $10 off the gate price off 1-day admission ticket ($29 vs. $39) when you show your military ID with photo. This discount is available of Active Duty, National Guard and Reservists only. Limit 1 ticket per person — and this ticket cannot be transferred or combined with any other office. Valid at the ticket booths between April 30 and May 4.

image005The summer country music concert series returns to CityPlace this summer. The kick-off will be on Tues., June 25th with a free show on the plaza by Jerrod Neimann on Tues., June 25th. The singer and songwriter will perform sounds for the crowd like his number one hit, “Lover, Lover,” and top five single, “What Do You Want.”

On Wed., July 24th, there will be another free event with Joe Nichols.

The official after-party for each show will be held at what will be CityPlace’s newest music venue and restaurant, Tequila Cowboy Bar & Grill.

musicMandel Public Library will host a free Argentine Tango lesson on Wed., June 12th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. You will learn the basics of tango during this lesson. Lessons are provide by Argentine Tango with George from Exclusively Argentine Tango at George’s.  Please wear leather shoes. Listen to Bluegrass/Americana player Tuck Tucker at the Mandel Public Library on Sunday, July 15th at 2 pm. Tuck Tucker is heralded as one of the best session musicians in the region. His mastery skills of the dobro and slide guitar have placed him alongside well-known bands such as Dale Crider and The Marshall Tucker Band to name a few. West Palm Beach Public Library is kicking off a new series featuring world music. This series is scheduled for select Sundays in the upcoming month and will feature a different culture and style of music. On Sunday, January 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm, Alicia Branch will sing opera — past performances of hers include Tommy, The Pirates of Penzance, Othello & Handel’s Messiah.

The City of Boca Raton just announced the schedule for the series of free weekend events and concerts titled, Music at Mizner: A Summer Tribute to the Legends. This weekend concert series takes place at Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets, as seating is on the lawn only. On-site food and beverage is available for purchase. Free parking is available in the parking garages of Mizner Park.
