sisyuThe Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens will feature 2 special artists’ presentations this Sunday, Dec. 15th starting at 12:30 p.m. These presentations are free with paid museum admission.


  • 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. — Presentation by Sisyu, Calligraphy Artist – Calligraphy demonstrations & talk about the origins of kanji.
  • 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. — Presenatation by bamboo craftsman Tanabe Shochiku – presentation and gallery talk about his work in the Morikami’s current exhibit, Contemporary Kōgei Styles in Japan.
  • 4:45 – 5:00 p.m. — Contemporary Kōgei Styles in Japan gallery walk with Tanabe Shochiku

Tickets will be distributed on a first come first served basis in the museum lobby starting at 10:00 a.m. on Sun., Dec. 15th. Ticket quantities are limited and cannot be reserved in advance.
